Weaves I: Foundations to Proofing July 2

Service Description

The first in a series of specialty Agility skills classes. Whether you are in the earlier stages of introducing weaves to your dog or, wanting to proof more advanced weave skills, this course will provide learning opportunities to develop those skills. At minimum, you must have introduced and practice 2X2 weave pole performance with your dog. To proceed beyond 2X2 entries, your dogs should be about 13-14 months of age or older before training weaves to decrease risk of injuries or joint problems with a young dog’s developing body. For less experienced dogs, the training will focus on understanding and performance of the weave foundation skills. For more advanced dogs, skill development with increased difficulty and challenges are covered to focus on more difficult entries/exits, independence, discrimination and layering. **Prerequisite** Students must have foundations of weave in place for this course. Please email us if you are not sure before registering for this course. We want to promote a safe, and relaxed training environment. Your dog needs to have a reasonable recall and, cannot be aggressive/reactive toward other dogs or people involved in class.
